We continually strive to enhance our products to ensure safety is at the forefront, and our new ‘Safety Barrier’ option means our rise and recline chairs are safer than most on the market today, giving you extra peace of mind, and complies with safety issues as laid down by the European directive.

Certain issues of safety are evident on a rise and recline chair, none more so than when the chair is returning to a lowered position from its highest elevation.

However, unlikely that a crush injury should happen, Sitting Pretty pro-actively look at ways to develop safer rise and recline chairs without changing the aesthetics of our chair designs.

As a result we are proud to be able to offer you an optional extra. Our fitted safety barriers - a hidden solid side barrier which is revealed when the chair is risen - blocks any entry under the chair from the sides. Also, at the rear is a fitted elastic blanket barrier which significantly reduces any access from the rear of the chair. In addition, at the front of the chair, as the footrest is risen, there is also a combined solid barrier and elastic blanket which stops entry from under your feet, making Sitting Pretty rise and recliners probably the safest on the market today.

New for 2012 is our Detachable Handsets (as pictured). An added safety feature allowing the user to disengage the chairs operation if small children are present or likely to be around the chair, by simply un-clipping the handset from the cable and hide away safely.
